Alfred "Wayne" Kruckman, 98 of The Dalles OR, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2018. He was born on July 3, 1919 in Judith Gap, Montana. He graduated from Corbett High School in 1937 and served in the Army Air Corps from 1941 to 1945 in the South Pacific. Wayne married Virginia Howell on August 28, 1943 at the Army Air Corps Base in Big Springs, Texas and she preceded him in death on March 10, 2016.
Wayne owned and operated Kruckman Dairy at Latourell Falls for over 30 years and worked as a park ranger for the State of Oregon for 10 years. He was a member of Corbett VFW Post, Corbett Grange and attended Corbett Community Church. Wayne was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed fishing.
Wayne is survived by his daughter Brenda Holman (Ron Spooner) of Portland OR; sons Robert Kruckman (Dolores) of Pine Hollow OR and Jay Kruckman (Kathy) of Sandy OR; sister Betty McCleary of Pendleton OR; sister-in-law Ila Kruckman of Gresham OR; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 11:30am to 12:30pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd in Gresham with Graveside Services and Military Honors to follow at 1:00pm at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Contributions may be made as donations in lieu of flowers to Home at Last Humane Society at www.homeatlasths.org or at 200 River Road, The Dalles OR 97058.
