Alfred A Puglisi Passed away on June 23, 2014, at 91. Born in the Little Italy section of lower Manhattan of Sicilian immigrants in 1922, loved Italy, Italian food, wine and song. WWII vet, landed with the US army infantry on Utah Beach shortly after D-Day in September 1944, earned Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Alumnus of Fordham (BS - 1943) and NYU (MBA-1951). After serving as controller of Welcome Wagon Inc., and the Olivetti Corporation, co-founded Pustorino, Puglisi and Co, PC, CPAs, of which he was the managing partner from 1961-88. Named Knight of Malta (1982) and Cavalier del Lavoro by the Italian Government (1987). ...

Passed away on June 23, 2014, at 91. Born in the Little Italy section of lower Manhattan of Sicilian immigrants in 1922, loved Italy, Italian food, wine and song. WWII vet, landed with the US army infantry on Utah Beach shortly after D-Day in September 1944, earned Bronze Star and Purple Heart. Alumnus of Fordham (BS - 1943) and NYU (MBA-1951).

After serving as controller of Welcome Wagon Inc., and the Olivetti Corporation, co-founded Pustorino, Puglisi and Co, PC, CPAs, of which he was the managing partner from 1961-88.

Named Knight of Malta (1982) and Cavalier del Lavoro by the Italian Government (1987). Dedicated to professional and philanthropic causes, serving on many committees of the New York State Society of CPAs, and was Director of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce and the Queens Chamber of Commerce. Held officer positions at the New York Athletic Club, Lions Club of Ravenswood, Cardinal's Committee for the Laity, Columbus Citizens Foundation, Variety Boys Club of Queens, the American Italian Foundation for Cancer Research and Fordham University.

Survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Denise, of Paris, France whom he met in post-war Germany, and children, Claudine Puglisi Cagwin (Thomas Cagwin), Michael (Valerie), and Catherine Puglisi (William Barcham), loving sisters, Diana Lamanno and Nina Murphy, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren, Alex and Michelle Cagwin, Suzanne Puglisi and Jeanne Puglisi Grzywacz, Raphael and Arianna Barcham, and great-grandchildren, Clint and Carson Grzywacz.

A celebration of life will take place at Thomas M. Quinn and Sons, Inc, 35-20 Broadway at 35th Street, Long Island City, NY 11106, from 2-5 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, June 26th. Funeral Mass to be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 27, at St. Joan of Arc, 82-00 35th Ave at 82nd Street, Jackson Heights, NY 11372.
