Alfred Robert "Papi" Swift, 81 of Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday August 14, 2012. He was born to Alfred Maxey Swift III and Eleanor Virginia Marks Swift on July 15, 1931 in Middleburg Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lakeworth High School in Lakeworth, Florida in 1949 and then attended Palm Beach Junior College where he graduated with an Associates Degree and Honors in 1951. He continued his education at The University of Florida in Gainesville and Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1954. Alfred Robert "Papi" Swift, 81 of Houston, Texas passed away on Tuesday August 14, 2012. He was born to Alfred Maxey Swift III and Eleanor Virginia Marks Swift on July 15, 1931 in Middleburg Pennsylvania. He graduated from Lakeworth High School in Lakeworth, Florida in 1949 and then attended Palm Beach Junior College where he graduated with an Associates Degree and Honors in 1951. He continued his education at The University of Florida in Gainesville and Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1954.
He served in the United States Army from February 1954 to 1956 and left with an honorable discharge, It was while he was in the Army and a chance trip to Mexico that he would meet and marry the love of his life; Kela in Monterrey, Mexico, 1957. This union blessed them with five children, Susan Kay Swift; Cynthia Lee Minchew, Elizabeth Ann Grimm, Alfred Mark Swift V, and Vanessa Dee Gionis.
He delighted in his eleven Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his parents, survived by his wife and children, grandchildren and many others.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday August 18th at 2pm in the Chapel at Forest park Westheimer. The family will welcome friends at a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm
