Alice Lucas, 95, of Urbandale, passed away in her sleep on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Southfield Wellness Center in Webster City. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Graceland Cemetery.
Alice was born on January 23, 1922 on the family farm in Hamilton County. Her parents were Winifred and Nettie (Frohling) Walker. She graduated from Blairsburg High School in 1939. They farmed the ground til 1962, at which time they moved to Webster City. In 1967, they moved to Urbandale, where Rae took a job with the Urbandale Parks Department. Alice worked as a school cook and also worked some time in a manufacturing plant. Rae passed away in September 1982. Alice married Merle Lucas in 1992.
Family was the center of Alice's life. She enjoyed cooking for family gatherings. She loved spending time outdoors, like gardening, and camping at Lake Saylorville. Alice and Merle found great joy in traveling and spent several winters in Fort Myers, Florida. Merle passed away in 2010.

John Mikel
Raejean and Roger,
Sorry for the loss of your mom. She was such a kind and gentle person. Seems like a long time ago that we were French Church neighbors and country school classmates. Hope you are both well.
Best regards,
John (Mickey) Mikel
