Services for Alice B McNeil, 99, of Lubbock, will be held Saturday, September 29, at 1:00 PM, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, with the Rev. Dale Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5:30-7:30 PM at Resthaven. Alice went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 26th in Lubbock. She was born to William Lafeitte O'Dell and Camilla Watson O'Dell near Lakeview, Texas, on February 21, 1913. Alice moved with her family to Floyd County in 1917. Alice went to be with her Heavenly Father on September 26th in Lubbock. She was born to William Lafeitte O'Dell and Camilla Watson O'Dell near Lakeview, Texas, on February 21, 1913. Alice moved with her family to Floyd County in 1917. She attended Allmon School in Petersburg and helped on the family farm.

She married Wallace McNeil in Plainview, Texas, on January 12, 1936, and farmed in Hale County. They moved to Petersburg in 1937, then to Lubbock in 1939. They raised two children during their 61-year marriage and were active members of Calvary Baptist Church. Alice was a homemaker and an exceptional seamstress. Her heart was always for her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace McNeil, on June 7, 1997; and her daughter-in-law, Laura McNeil, on September 25, 2012. She was the last survivor of 8 children and 3 step-children.

Survivors include one son, Dwain McNeil, of Odessa; one daughter, Myra McNeil, of Lubbock; one granddaughter, Roycee Nobles, and husband, Stacey, of Marble Falls, Texas; and one great-grandson, Jacob Nobles.

Memorials are suggested to the Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 5301 82nd Street (79424).
