Services to celebrate the life of Alice Alexander, 90, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Calvary Baptist Church where Mrs. Alexander was a member. Reverend Steve Gilley will officiate assisted by Reverend Price Harris. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. church prior to services.

Alice was born on November 10, 1921, and entered into peaceful rest on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, after a long illness. She was a native of Lufkin, TX and had resided in Shreveport, LA for the past 58 years. Alice was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 48 years. After high school, Alice attended business school and one year at University of Florida. She later retired from The Guest House as Food Service Supervisor after 28 years of faithful employment.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Henson; son, Larry W. Alexander, Sr. and wife, Pam; son, Troy Alexander and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Tammy Hyatt, Larry W. Alexander, Jr., Ken Hadley and wife, Marlin, Reisha Thurman and husband, Keith, Alayna Burkhard, Jason Alexander and wife, Jennifer, and Alison Moore and husband, Johnathan; sisters, Hazel Farris and Anne Hicks; sisters-in-law, Hilda Green and Doris Green; fourteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Mrs. Alexander as pallbearers are K.C. Hadley, Kyle Hadley, Larry Alexander, Jr., Keith Thurman, Johnathan Moore and Jason Alexander.

The family would like to express their deepest heartfelt gratitude to all those who were involved in the loving care of our mother and grandmother at home as well as the various health care facilities.

Please join us in the celebration of our Mother's passing into the presence of Christ.
To be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord. 2 Cor 5:8
