Dr. ALICE KASSABIAN (Age 85)
Of Oakton, Virginia passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Johns Hopkins Hospital from complications of ALS. Beloved wife of 63 years to Albert I. Kassabian; loving mother of five children, Dr. Keith J. Kassabian (Amy), Lynne A. Kassabian (David Hick), The Honorable Brett A. Kassabian (Jacqueline), Clay V. Kassabian (Inge) and John A. Kassabian. Alice is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren, Peter, Rachel, Rebecca, Hannah, Joshua, Ani and Sarah; and two brothers, Ara Anooshian and Armen Anooshian (Connie).
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. at DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 5308 Backlick Rd. Springfield, VA. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Little River United Church of Christ, 8410 Little River Turnpike Annandale, VA 22003. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dr. Alice Kassabian's honor to the Armenian National Committee of America Endowment, 1711 N Street N.W., Washington DC 200036.

It has been said by many that time heals all wounds. The loss of a mother is never healed by time. Perhaps we learn to manage the grief over time. The world would be a better place if mrs Kassabian were still here to share the wisdom of tolerance, truth, respect and many other values to help us get along. Hopefully the seeds she planted in her children and grandchildren continue to flourish and lead us in the right direction. God bless
