She was mother to a group of William and Mary students, most of whom attended a little mission church off Highway 5. We spent many hours in her and Adrian's home, laughing, singing, and eating her remarkable cooking. And when we needed to be cheered she was a great listener and friend. But that was 50 years ago when she was a young mom with three children of her own at home. She was one of the most loving people I ever knew; and we all loved her back.
I just learned today of her death, and it has saddened me. I am so glad to have seen her in the fall and to have caught up on years of history, hers and mine.
I didn't get to visit often, but I will miss her and will be sorry knowing that she won't be there the next time I am in Williamsburg.

Along with everyone else, I loved Alice for the beautiful person that she was. I worked with her for a number of years and aspired to the way she lived her life and demonstrated her faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. I know of all people she is resting in heavenly places....glen adams

I remember a very great favor your mom did for me when she had my draft board transferred from Elba Alabama (a town I had never been in) to Williamsburg. A great lady. Dan Landis

Dear mom, I miss your saintly ways and forgiving nature. You will always be my best friend. Dennis, Kutza, and I are devastated. You and I were so excited that I was finally retiring so we could spend quality time together with dad. I promise you that I will spend quality time with my wonderful father, even though I can never replace all that you have done to take care of your "best baby" of seventy years! I will always hear your soft little voice in my head telling me not to grieve so hard because we will be together again one day. I know you are rejoicing with your mother and father, sister, and brothers who have been waiting so long for you in heaven. Rejoice with the angels, my beloved mother. Your heart broken daughter and son-in-law, "Ellie Boo" and "Dentist".
