Alma Mae Cartwright was born February 27, 1931 in Roseland, Arkansas to Martha Edna Thomas and Harry Martin Hulsman. Alma passed away peacefully in Abilene, TX on Saturday, August 19, 2017.
Alma grew up on a cotton farm in Missouri with 3 sisters and four brothers. At age 18, Alma's Mother sent her to live with her sister, Mildred, in California. Alma had a distinguished career as the CEO of the Fresno Police Credit Union for over 30 years. She served on several state boards. She participated in bowling leagues where, she met the love of her life. Kenny and Alma Cartwright were married for 20 years.
Survivors include her sister, Marcella DePriest; brothers, Cliff Hulsman and wife, Dee, and Howard Hulsman and wife, Debbie; nephew, Dr. Jerry DePriest and wife, Jody; nieces, Cheree Hulsman, Donna Tubbs and husband, Michael, Christy Hulsman, Pam Hulsman, Karen Hulsman, and Edward Ann Hulsman; nephew, Clifford Lloyd Trittipo; stepson, Bill Cartwright and wife, Susan; stepdaughters, Donna Fielding and husband, Larry and Lori Schneider and husband, Mike; step-granddaughters, Amy, Carolyn, Jennifer, Whitney, Emily, and Ashley; step-grandsons, Daniel and Eli; and step great-grandchildren, Max, Ruby, and Aiden. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin Kenneth Cartwright; sisters, Mildred Loftus and Muriel Blalock; brothers, Sonny Hulsman and Louie Hulsman; and niece, Kathy Eldridge.
There will be a memorial service and internment celebrating the life of Alma Cartwright on Monday, October 9, 2017 at 10:30am at the Clovis Cemetery, 305 N. Villa Ave., Clovis, CA. The honor of your presence is requested at a lunch reception following the service at Luna Pizzeria & Italian Restaurant, 349 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis CA. An RSVP is requested but not required.
