Alma Galentine, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m., Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Bill Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening, from 5:30 to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home. Alma Galentine, 92, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Abilene. Alma was born on February 17, 1922 in Delaware, Arkansas to the late Thomas and Rosie Pershall Parsons. She attended schools in Lamar, Arkansas and later Draughn's Business College.

Alma married Dean Galentine on April 16, 1938 in Clarksville, Arkansas. In August of 1950, they moved from Illinois to Abilene. She was past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Abilene Chapter 30 and was also a member of First United Methodist Church in Abilene.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; two brothers, Everett and John Parsons; and four sisters, Lela Childress, Lucinda Cowell, Maxine Nordin, and Ruby Wyatt.

Survivors include her daughter, Deana Fay Windham and husband, Tally of Clyde; granddaughters, Windy Nail and husband, Steve, and Sarah Atkinson and husband, Tim of Clyde; great-grandsons, Jake and Sam Green, and Rowdy Nail; great-granddaughter, Cassie Gomez and husband, Baldo of Baird, and Kristen Burns; great-great-grandsons, Hunter and Hagen Gomez; a brother, Edward Parsons; and a sister, Lucille Kloth.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Methodist Church Kids Club, P.O. Box 936, Baird, TX 79504 or the Hospice of the Big Country.
