Alma H. Troup, age 94, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO after a prolonged illness. She was born May 10, 1919 in Salamanca, NY. She was the daughter of Clare and Vivian (Hall) Henry. She graduated from Jamestown Business College two years before her marriage to Malcolm G. Troup on June 12, 1941 in The Cadet Chapel at West Point, NY. Her husband Malcolm was a 1941 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, and during his military career, they traveled and lived in Tokyo Japan, Orléans France, Seoul Korea, and many places around the United States. Malcolm's last duty station came in November of 1962 at USARADCOM Hq in Colorado Springs. They both loved the city and the surrounding mountains so much that they decided to make it their home after Malcolm's retirement in 1966. In 1972, they moved to Sportsmen's Paradise (Rainbow's End) near Lake George, CO and lived there for four years before moving back to Colorado Springs. Alma served for many volunteer needs while in Korea and for The Grace Episcopal Church Alter Guild and Thrift House. She also worked as a realtor for Cook Reality for eight years. She loved to oil paint, travel and socialize with her numerous friends. She also had a great love for her dogs, especially Gustav Von Rip-It-Off. Alma's final place of residence was at The Village at Skyline where she made many friends. Her husband Malcolm of 60 years, their son David and her sister Josephine preceded her in death. Alma is survived by her two sons, Brian (wife Susan) of Rogers, AR and Stephen (wife Cathy) of Colorado Springs, CO, her grandchildren Marcus, Merissa, Donovan, and Stephanie, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Alma Troup was the astonishing, beautiful, loving Lady of our family. Her faith and the love for her family always came first. A celebration of Alma's life will be held at the Village at Skyline with a reception following on March 26, 2014 at 6PM. A private inurnment will take place at Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made in Alma's name to The Salvation Army in Colorado Springs. She will be missed and always remembered as a remarkable woman.
