Ambrocia C. Montelongo, 86, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017 in Abilene, TX. Services will be held at 10:00a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 402 W 1st St, Hearne, TX 77859. Burial will be in St. Jose Cemetery, Hearne, TX. Arrangements were entrusted to Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene, TX.
Ambrocia was born on March 22, 1933 in Hearne, TX to the late Polo Camario and Felipa Herrera Camario. She loved dancing, music, and spending time with her friends. Ambrocia was a great cook and was well-known for her burgers. She owned and operated a pharmacy and soda fountain. Ambrocia was a Catholic.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Damasio Montelongo; daughter, Isabel Leija; and a grandson, Richard Leija.
Survivors include her son, Frank Montelongo of Hearne, TX; son-in-law, Felipa Leija of Abilene; grandchildren, Connie De Los Santos of Hurst, TX, David Leija of Abilene, Gloria Allen of Odessa, Andrew Leija, Christina DeLeon, and Melissa Leija all of Abilene; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
