HOAG, Amy Prince, age 83, formerly of Memphis and Dallas, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. Amy was born in Booneville Mississippi on February 28, 1931 and grew up with five brothers and a sister in Steele Missouri. She graduated from Steele High School in 1949 where she was a varsity basketball and softball player, leading her basketball team to the regional championship and victories in two invitational tournaments in her senior year. HOAG, Amy Prince, age 83, formerly of Memphis and Dallas, lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. Amy was born in Booneville Mississippi on February 28, 1931 and grew up with five brothers and a sister in Steele Missouri. She graduated from Steele High School in 1949 where she was a varsity basketball and softball player, leading her basketball team to the regional championship and victories in two invitational tournaments in her senior year. During her life, she visited many countries and lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, Alaska, New Mexico, Nebraska, Michigan, Maryland, Massachusetts, Vermont and Ohio. For over 20 years, Amy was active in charitable works through her efforts in Epsilon Sigma Alpha International and St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grand Prairie Texas. Amy was a devoted mother and grandmother, providing love and unending support to her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James in February 1994. Amy is survived by two of her brothers, Frank Prince of Southaven Mississippi and John Prince of Mansfield Texas, and her three children, Nancy Hoag of Dallas, Richard of Dayton Ohio, and Walter. Amy is also survived by her three grandchildren, Amy Green of Houston, Thomas Hoag of Dallas, and James Hoag of Idaho. Amy will be interred 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Mansfield Texas Cemetery, Mansfield, Texas. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Amy's memory.
