Andrew James (Jay) passed away peacefully August 3, 2016. He is the son of Gertrude Campbell Layden and Martin Patrick Layden. He was born July 1, 1930 in Forney, Texas. He graduated from Forney High School in 1947. He attended his freshman year at the University of St. Thomas, Houston, the year it opened. He graduated from Spring Hill College, Mobile, Alabama in 1951. He entered the United States Marine Corps and became Captain. In 1954 he married Alberta Ann Coleman from Kaufman, Texas and was married until her death in 2007. He is survived by his two children, Mary Ann and Andrew James, Jr, three grandchildren Paige, Nancy and Andrew, a great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his siblings Martin Patrick, John Joseph and Gertrude Marie "Dodie"). Jay became President and C.E.O. of Allright Parking in 1967. He served as President of the National Parking Association. Jay was Roman Catholic and served as First Lieutenant of the Southwestern Lieutenancy of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Visitation and Rosary will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, August 9th. Funeral Mass and reception will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, August 10th, all at St. Anne Catholic Church, 2140 Westheimer. So sorry for your loss. Always thought so much of your Mom and Dad. My time went way back with the Coleman family since I grew up on the old gin lot in Talty and also knew your Granddad Layden from St Martin's in Talty. You have had a long life with you Dad hope he was in fair health most of his life. Your family will be in my prayers
