Ane Balle Andersen Asper, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017.
Born April 20,1938 to Julius and Margrethe Balle Andersen in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Ane was raised in Denmark to the age of 10 at which time her family immigrated to the United States where they made their home in Salt Lake City, Utah. She continued to speak her native language fluently all her life.
Graduated from West High in 1957 and then attended LDS Business College.
She married Alfred Norman Asper in the Salt Lake Temple June 9, 1959. Later divorced.
Ane had a long employment history, from scooping ice cream at Snelgroves on South Temple to working as a secretary at ZCMI, she always kept herself busy. For more than 40 years she worked alongside her brother Borge in his custom photo house. Later in her career she assumed the helm of her father's photoengraving business, Utah Engraving.
Ane loved to cook. She always set a beautiful table and made food to match, and especially prepare native dishes. During her many years at Borge's, she would put on a Christmas party for clients. Each year it grew in size and fame. Ane always had a special dish or extra treat set aside to make everyone feel special. Ane rarely used recipes, but cooked by feel and taste. She always made excellent food that was difficult to duplicate.
Ane's true love has always been her family. She used her hard work, love of food, and big heart to care for her family. Her parents, brother, kids and grandkids were never far away and always felt her love.
Ane loved to travel to her homeland and loved to share her heritage with her family and those around her. She was often asked to prepare authentic Danish dishes for different church, school or social events.
She always served faithfully in whatever capacity to which she was called in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The gospel brought her family to America and she remained true and faithful to the church throughout her life.
She is survived by sons; Ricky J Asper (Cheryl), Salt Lake City; Mark W Asper (LeAnne), Salina, Utah; and daughter Connie Muir (ElRay) Salt Lake City, Utah.
Grandchildren; Johnathan Mark Asper, Levi Scott Asper, Sydney Ane Asper, Mitchell J Asper, Max Samuel Asper, Anita Muir, Curtis Muir, John Muir, Jennette Hales, Charissa Parkinson, Tom Muir, and 9 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Borge B. Andersen.

I am so sorry to hear about Ane passing. We
became friends when they moved into our 19th Ward when they first came from Denmark. We were best friends for a long time and then we each got married and didn't each other.
I am sorry for your loss.

I was in High School and Seminary with Ane. I was associated with Fred in Army basic training, and later I was their home teacher in the East 20th Ward in the avenues of Salt Lake. I enjoyed all of those associations. Doug Anderson. Taylorsville.

Ane was a beautiful loving soul who possessed a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed. She meant so much to our mother, Anne-Lise, to whom she was like a sister. We wish the family blessings and peace through this difficult time.

To Ane's Family,
Ane and I worked together for over 35 years at Borge's. Ane was a hard worker, dedicated to her duties and fun to be around. She enjoyed talking and laughing with long-time clients who stopped by to have their film processed. After retirement, we met several times for lunch and always enjoyed reminiscing about our years at Borge's. Ane enjoyed doing cross-stitch ... I have several of her pieces hanging in my home.
At the moment, I am out of state, but I will be thinking of you as you celebrate her life.
Most sincerely,
Charlotte Stewart

I will never forget the times we shared in the studio kitchen. Janet Schaap, Joan Larsen and I doing a food shoot, and you bringing in the most wonderful danish food for Borge, and all of us. I still make Ane's wonderful Danish cake , I begged her for the recipe. They were great years, I enjoyed your friendship, and Borge's, and I still miss him. I am so sorry that you got so sick. RIP Ane.

My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there is a hope for our love ones lost in death can be reassuring

Rick, Mark and Connie;
Your mother was a wonderful, friendly person. She was my neighbor until I married and moved out-of-state. She shared a few recipes that my husband and I still use 37 years later. Our favorite is her abelskiever (Danish pancakes) recipe.
May the Lord bless you as you grieve your mother. However, because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ we know we will see our loved ones again.
