Angel Gabriel (Gaby) Andrade
Born: February 2nd, 1925
Gaby was born in Guayaquil. Ecuador and returned to the Lord on June 14th 2017 aged 92 at Bayport, Long Island, NY. He was the loving husband of Olga (deceased), and father of Carmen Gonzalez (deceased), Marjorie Delgado (deceased), and is survived by his children Yvonne (Geoff Stokoe), Belinda (Craig Leshinger), and Glen (Connie Lawton).
He was the loving grandfather of Luis Alberto, Gianni, Claire, Maris, Kristina, Antonio, Katarina, Colin, Chelsea, Christopher, Caja, Estella and Julio Mario and 9 great grandchildren. He is also survived in Ecuador by his sister Stella (Marcos Robayo) and his nephews Armando, xavier and Jose Luis and their families.
Gaby joined the Ecuadorean Navy as a young man and served as a ship's engineer, until 1962 when he moved with his wife Olga and family to New York. He worked hard in the restaurant industry until he could operate his own business.
In 1980 proudly became a US Citizen, shortly thereafter moved the family to Miami where he lived until shortly before his death.
Gaby was fun loving with a wicked sense of humor. He loved playing practical jokes on family and friends. He loved gadgets and liked to travel too. He would bring back all kinds of mechanical or electric toys for family and friends from his trips to New York and Guayaquil. He was a great "handyman" and undertook all kinds of construction projects in his home. He preferred to do almost everything at home himself, and was still cutting his own grass past 90 years of age.
He was a great sports fan. He loved soccer and could be found watching international games on TV even up to the last few days of his life. In 2014 aged 90 he went to watch Ecuador draw 2-2 with England at Dolphins Stadium. In the same year, he went to Ecuador to celebrate his birthday with his extended family. He still had the strength at 90 years old to celebrate long into the night with family and friends.
Gaby enjoyed life up until the last. Less than one month ago he enjoyed dinner (including Steak and a glass of sangria) at his favorite Spanish restaurant with his family on Long Island. He will be sadly missed by all.

There are so many memories of joking and laughing, of painting and repurposing and the pictures covering every inch of wall available in that hallway hold many more memories with your loving family. Memories that will stay with us always. We all miss you already. Love you abuelo.

Family, I'm so very sorry for your loss, our loss. I'm so glad that he lived such a long life and was able to depart this earth without pain. I'm sorry I couldn't be there to say goodbye and hold each of you. I hope you can feel my love for you, even from this great distance.
I love you
Abuelo Gaby,
You will be sorely missed.

Hello Yvonne, Belinda,Gaby-Glenn ,Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father. I know that nothing anyone can say will take away the pain of your loss. He left so many memories and a legacy that you will cherish forever. One of my fond memories is that he loved to celebrate Christmas and his joy was to put together "El nacimiento del nino Jesus." I can still vision the Baby Jesus manger in the house of Richmond Hill,NY and his next passion was to take the huge film recorder and capture all he could so later we will watch it (no sound-silent film) and as kids we will break in big laughter. So celebrate his life and may he rest in peace together with your mom. God Bless. Warm Regards Lourdes and family.
