Mr. Angelo R. Saccente, age 76, of McFarlane Avenue, Deltona died May 14, 2012 at his home. Mr. Saccente was born on October 19, 1935 in New York, New York, the son of Angelo and Mary Stallone Saccente. He worked for the Railway Express in New York for nine years and retired as Plant Supervisor from Anco Company after fifteen years. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the U.S. Army and the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Mr. Saccente was born on October 19, 1935 in New York, New York, the son of Angelo and Mary Stallone Saccente. He worked for the Railway Express in New York for nine years and retired as Plant Supervisor from Anco Company after fifteen years. He was a Korean War Veteran serving with the U.S. Army and the Army Corp of Engineers. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post # 8093 of DeBary, the Korean War Vet Association, Chapter 153, where he served as Sgt. at Arms for 14 years. He loved to fish and enjoyed bowling.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Armstrong and seven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Helen; a son, Angelo R. (Jacquie) Saccente; a son-in-law, Bill Armstrong; three grandsons, Bryan, Keith and Michael and one granddaughter, Mellisa; and one sister, Lucy Schulaski ( his last surviving sibling) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday, May 16th from 2 - 4 and 6 - 8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home, 1295 Saxon Boulevard, Orange City, FL., PH: 386-775-4260. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 17th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Deltona.
