Mrs. Stubblefield was born January 8, 1927 in Port Arthur, Texas, the daughter of the late Eva (Largent) and Richard Arden Adams. She passed away Thursday, January 4, 2018 in a local hospice facility.
Mrs. Stubblefield lived in Lufkin all her life and graduated from Lufkin High School in 1944. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and a homemaker. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. To them, she was known as "Nanny". Angie had a green thumb and was an avid gardener. She loved caring for all types of flowers, especially day lilies. She used her own personal plants to landscape at The Meadows, where she had resided for the last 6 years. She was a charter member of Union Road Church of Christ.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, John (Dick) and Joellen Stubblefield of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and James Pickle, Sr. of Lufkin and Vickie and Scott Baird of Conroe; grandsons, James Pickle, Jr., John Pickle and wife Suzanne, and Matthew Pickle; granddaughters and husbands, Laurie and William Wooten, Kristy and Brian Adams, Sara and James Wakefield, and Samantha Baird; great-grandchildren, Lisa, Dustin and Kayla Pickle; Kelsi, Lauren, Garrett, Jase and Jaxon Wooten; Abby and Ashlyn Adams; and Alesha Pickle; great-great-grandchildren, McKenzie Holst and McKenna Morris; sister and brother-in-law, Sandra and Kenneth Wagner; a niece; and three nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stubblefield was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Hubert Stubblefield; great-grandson, Dalton Pickle; and brother, Elton Ray Adams.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Affinity Hospice, 2808 S. Medford Drive, Lufkin, TX 75904; or The Joseph House, P. O. Box 150554, Lufkin, TX 75915.
