Anita Elizabeth Bowden, 93, passed away on March 11, 2017 in Corsicana, Texas. She was born on February 1, 1924 in Sistern, Texas to Emil and Frances Kubicek. Anita married Oliver M. Bowen on November 4, 1943, four years later, they went into full-time pastoral ministry and together they pastored for 62 years. She loved the ministry and also embroidery and reading.
She is predeceased by her parents Emil and Frances Kubicek; husband Rev. O.M. Bowden; son, Rev. Ronald Bowden; brother, Louis Kubicek; sisters, Helen Kubicek, Henrietta Hoes, Leonietta Scruggs.
Anita is survived by her daughter, Barbara Johnson and husband Gary of Barry, TX; granddaughters, Angelia Phillips and huband Shane of Gerogetown, TX and Melissa Bedard and husband Michael of Barry, TX; grandson, Jamil Johnson of Blooming Grove, TX; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 5:00-7:00pm, Tuesday, the 14th of March at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd. Austin TX 78752.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00pm on Wednesday, the 15th of March 2017, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas.
