Anita (Oakes) Arbour of Milford PA Passed away on May 3, 2013 at Milford Senior Care Facilty. She was a part time resident of Monroe County for over 60 years. Upon retirement she became a full time resident of Bushkill and finally settling in East Stroudsburg. She was born on August 29, 1932 in Bay Shore NY, the daughter of late Henry and Melina Oakes. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was a home health aide for Good Samaratian Hospital in West Islip NY. She was life member of the Amvets Auxilliary and member of Post 76 and 18. Anita (Oakes) Arbour of Milford PA Passed away on May 3, 2013 at Milford Senior Care Facilty.

She was a part time resident of Monroe County for over 60 years. Upon retirement she became a full time resident of Bushkill and finally settling in East Stroudsburg.

She was born on August 29, 1932 in Bay Shore NY, the daughter of late Henry and Melina Oakes.
Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was a home health aide for Good Samaratian Hospital in West Islip NY. She was life member of the Amvets Auxilliary and member of Post 76 and 18. She was a past NY State Amvets Auxiliary officer. She was also a life member of the NRA. Locally, she was a member of the St Josephs Senior Club and a Senior Traveling Club.

She is preceded by her husband Allan E Arbour , daughter Susan A Bunnell , sister Hazel Eldredge and her son-in-law Richard Respet.

Anita is survived by 3 daughters Kathy Respet of Wilmington NC, Judi Booker of East Stroudsburg and Jill Hamilton and husband Jim of Matamoras; 7 grandchildren Gregory and Alissa Respet, Kiah Booker-Schwartz , Cori Booker, Kimber Rohner, Kelse Brady-Hamilton and Cody Hamilton, and great granddaughter Fallon. She also is survived by a brother Henry (JR.) Oakes II and wife Jan, sisters Evelyn Russell and Joann Mitchell as well as many nieces and nephews.

The last years of her life she was comforted by the loving and caring staff of Karen Ann Quinlan and most of all, Mama's angel, Diana Lewis who cared for her for over 6 years and was there for her at the end comforting her.

Funeral services will be held on Monday May 20,2013 at 1:30 P.M. at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home Inc. East Stroudsburg, with Louis Heckman, celerbrant,. Interment will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, in Marshalls Creek.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc, East Stroudsburg, from 12:00 until the time of service.
