Ann Boyd-Gottlieb, aged 86, died peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2013 at her home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Decatur, GA after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Memphis, TN to Marguerite and Richard Jones and moved to New Orleans at an early age. She graduated high school at the age of 16 and attended Newcomb College of Tulane University. Ann married Samuel Malcolm Boyd, Jr. in 1942; they had four children, and in 1963 moved permanently to Atlanta, GA. She was a faithful member of Clairmont Presbyterian Church, a devoted mother, worked as a bank teller at C&S Bank, was an avid reader, bridge player, traveler,...
Ann Boyd-Gottlieb, aged 86, died peacefully Sunday, June 2, 2013 at her home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Decatur, GA after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born in Memphis, TN to Marguerite and Richard Jones and moved to New Orleans at an early age. She graduated high school at the age of 16 and attended Newcomb College of Tulane University. Ann married Samuel Malcolm Boyd, Jr. in 1942; they had four children, and in 1963 moved permanently to Atlanta, GA. She was a faithful member of Clairmont Presbyterian Church, a devoted mother, worked as a bank teller at C&S Bank, was an avid reader, bridge player, traveler, and gardener. In 1992, Ann married Richard Gottlieb and they enjoyed many years traveling together at home and abroad.

Ann was best known for her lively and intelligent wit, her devotion to her family and friends, her practical expressions of love to those in need, her warm hospitality and family get-togethers.

Ann is pre-deceased by her first husband, Samuel Malcolm Boyd, Jr. and daughter Susan Ann Boyd. She is survived by her second husband Richard Gottlieb; her three children, Sandy Boyd and his wife Carolyn of Kennesaw, GA; Linda Frazer and her husband Alan of Clearwater, FL; Carol Buchel and her husband Olav of Cleveland, GA; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 8 at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 3150 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, GA. 30084 with visitation at 1:00 p.m., followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Evercare Hospice and Palliative Care, 3720 DaVinci Court, Suite 400, Norcross, GA 30092.
