DELCAMBRE - Funeral services will be conducted for Anna Mae Benoit Broussard, age 89, at 3:00 pm Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home, 107 Corner St., Delcambre, LA. Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate. Interment will follow in the Hanks Mausoleum in Lyons Point.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of Delcambre on Monday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday from 9:00 am until services.

A native and resident of Gueydan, and longtime resident of Sulphur, Mrs. Broussard passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

She is survived by her daughter, Charmaine Broussard Prejean and husband R.J. of Breaux Bridge; two grandchildren, Shane Benoit of Spring City, TN and Denise Benoit of Oakridge, TN; four great grandchildren, Anna Benoit, Ashton Broussard, Adeline Benoit, Ariyana Benoit; her brothers, Ovey Benoit, Jr. and Raymond Benoit both of Gueydan; and sisters, Patsy Debiasi of New Iberia, and Grace Migues of Loreauville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lenes Broussard; parents, Ovey and Ella Lemaire Benoit, Sr., sisters, Anna Bell Benoit, Hazel Sonnier, and Ouida Borres; and brothers, Pervis Benoit and Joseph Charles Benoit.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.
