Anna Marie Sorenson was born on Jan 28, 1960 in Scottsbluff, NE to Milton and Patricia (Popp) Sorenson. She attended school in Scottsbluff and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1978. She worked doing custom wheat harvesting and later joined Brown Trucking as a truck driver. In 1995 she met Dennis Harper, another long-haul truck driver, on Halloween during a blizzard in Mackay, ID. The couple eventually relocated OK where they both continued working as drivers.
In 2000, they moved from El Reno, OK to Blanchard, OK. A couple of years later Dennis was severely injured in a wreck and Anna gave up her trucking career to stay home and care for Dennis while he was healing. Anna went back to school where she became a medical assistant. She spent over a decade working at the Cancer Center at Southwest Medical Center. In 2013 Anna was forced into an early retirement due to health issues.
Anna Harper was a kind and generous woman who loved her Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was independent, stubborn, and ornery. Music was a big part of her life and she was the go to expert on 70's and 80's rock music. She enjoyed camping, going to the lake, and cooking her famous German cabbage burgers and Mexican food. She loved her dogs, especially her Blue Heeler Rowdy who rode shotgun in her semi for 17 years. Family was always her top priority and she was never happier than when she was surrounded by her husband, Step-son, and siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Chris Hammond. She is survived by her husband and soulmate of 21 years Dennis Harper; Step-son Jeremy Harper; siblings Candi Patterson and husband Rick, Butch Sorenson and wife Ellie, and William "Little Bill" Sorenson and wife Kelley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family and friends.
