Anna Catherine Horst, 94, of Myerstown, PA, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 in Stoneridge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late Harold G. Horst. She was born in Lebanon County on October 8, 1918, a daughter of the late Alfred Samuel and Anna Oxenreider Shelly Martin. She was a member of the Friedens Lutheran Church, Myerstown, where she was involved in their Harvest Home ceremony. She was also a member of the Farm Women Group. Anna was employed in her younger years by Michter's Distillery, Sterling Drug, Inc., was a pea huller and taught in an Amish school. She enjoyed planting sugar peas, strawberries and cooking turkeys. She is survived by a son, Robert H. husband of Virginia L. Horst of Coudersport; daughter in law, Pearl I. Horst of DE; grandchildren, Rene' L. Mutschler of DE; Josef E. husband of Lori Horst of Myerstown; David H. Horst of Lebanon; Rachel J. Horst of Coudersport; Robert H. Horst, Jr. of Myerstown; great grandchildren, Airik J. Mutschler of Nashville, TN; Danielle E. Horst and Cody C. Horst both of Myerstown; Ryan D. Horst and Grace C. Horst both of Lebanon; sisters, Esther A. Kaylor and Ruth A. Reist both of Lebanon. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale E. Horst; brothers, Henry Martin and Lester Martin. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown with a viewing beginning on Thursday at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be made in the Millbach Cemetery.

My first memory of Anna is as my kindergarden teacher's aide at Jackson Elementary, in Myerstown. She and my mother (Irene Shelly Daub) were first cousins. I will miss her greatly.
