Annette Hernandez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 2, 2017.

~~For my beautiful mother~~
Annette Hernandez was born in Lincoln Nebraska on 3/13/1960 to Tony and Lucia Juarez, she graduated from La Puente high school. On 08/12/1978 she married Richard Hernandez, her two sons are Richard and James Hernandez. A gift of a mother is one of the greatest gifts we can receive in life and we are grateful for the time we had with her. She won her battle to cancer on Sunday 4/30/2017, we say she won because she fought long and hard and never complained or gave up. She fought honorably and never once let it get in the way of her giving 100 percent to her family. She touched so many lives along the way with her kind heart and motherly love. I don't know whether to be sad or happy. I'm sad because I've lost the best mother I could ever ask for, the woman who had my back no matter how many wrong things I did in my life, the woman who loved me unconditionally for who I was, I'm sad my father will no longer have his best friend by his side to share memories and fun times with. I'm sad we will never have my mother to hold in our arms and look into her eyes and tell her we love her, I'm sad Ariel will not get to spend countless hours getting to know her and have her at her high school graduation or wedding. But I'm also so very grateful that she had the time she did with her, to see them color together and hold each other and share countless loving moments, I'm also so grateful and happy to have had the honor and chance to be my mothers son. I'm happy she will no longer be in pain or discomfort, I'm happy she showed us how to be strong and fight, she paved the road for our family and now we will have to continue on this journey without her here with us. She will be watching over us for eternity. It's impossible to explain how many wonderful things a person has done in their life in a single page but it is very easy to explain how much we love you. We love you to infinity and beyond.

May you rest in peace Tia Annette. I know you barely knew me, but I have always known of you. I regret not getting to know you, as I have read some messages here and you seemed as beautiful inside as you were on the outside!

Annette, thank you for all you gave not just to your own children, but to every kid that crossed your path. You will continue to touch every child that comes to the dojo by the legacy of your personal gift you crafted with your own hands and donated so many years ago. Each time they are brought out, it creates energy and joy. Thanks for leaving your mark on us. Dan Taylor

The old saying "the acorn doesn't fall from the tree".. Is reflective of how children are like their parents... James is a reflection of Annette's and dad's love. Your son is amazing and so loving to his Jaynelle and Ariel. And his love for you mom will never die. Sleep well sweet angel.

There are no words to express how sad I am at your passing, Annette. You will be loved and held in my memories forever. Each of us is better for having known you. I hold dear the laughs we shared. Your wonderful smile. The countless hours we spent in the dojo and at tournaments. Each one a memory to be cherished. Thank you for coming into my life. I'm just sorry you had to leave it so soon. Our karate family has lost a precious warrior while Heaven has gained an angel. I am blessed to have called you and Richard friends. Not goodbye...just until we meet again.

I first met Annette when I was a freshman in high school, we were in year book class together. From that day on we were friends. That was over 40 years ago. So many wonderful memories with the four of us. Richard, Annette, Randy and myself. She was always such a kind hearted, giving person. We always had a great time when we were together. Randy and I are truly blessed to have known you and been a part of your life. Wished we could of spent more time together. We love you very much, you will always be in our hearts. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Mrs. Hernandez - you were like a mother to me and countless others growing up. A great indicator of a person's life is how they have touched and benefited others. You certainly raised a great son who I'm proud to call one of my best friends (even if we live across the country from each other). Not only that, but you took in others and never closed the door when a roof was needed. You were kind, compassionate, and caring. You supported our endeavors, fed us, and respected us, even when we often acted like idiots.

I'm better having known you and grown up at times in your house. Thank you for the lessons you learned and I only regret I didn't get a chance to thank you in person. I'm not sure how I feel about god or heaven, but I think if anyone deserves to be there you surely fit the bill.

Love always,

Anthony.

Mrs, Hernandez

Thank you for being a great friend to my parents and a second mom to my brother growing up. I will always remember our fun days hanging out shopping and visiting together. You were always available to help anyone in need and you opened your house up to all of James's friends without question. Your true kindness showed easily. You kept me entertained day after day at landmark middle school while we waited for James and Anthony you always let me climb in the back of the truck, you listened to all the things I had to say daily and you always showed me that you cared. I thank you also for being another great role model for me growing up. I wish we had more time to visit together but im happy that you are out of pain and free. We will all miss you and we will check in on your family always. I made a flower garden stone for you the other day and thought of you as I decorated it. I put Spider man images and red stones to match Spider man. I added glitter to the stone so the sun will always make it shine on the ones you love. I hope Ariel will get a chance to look at it while she plays outside and know that you are always close by watching her grow. Rest and enjoy Heaven you fought long and hard. We will all see you again one day.
Love you always sweet Angel

Hi "James' Mom."

I never got the chance to know you as a "peer," but I remember you through the lens of my childhood. I've known James longer than I can remember, and by extension I've known you. I remember your smile the most. When I think of you, the first thing that comes to mind is always your smile and how it could light up a room. You were one of the moms that went to most, if not all of the events and so you're indelibly woven into the tapestry of my childhood. I regret not being able to know you better but I know that in many intangible ways, my life is better for having had you in it. My only hope is that I have become, or WILL become an adult that you would be proud to know as well.
