She was born to Gaudencio and Procesa Cuison Pancho, March 9, 1924, in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. Annie attended elementary school at Farmer's Institute and graduated in 1937. She attended high school at the Misamis Institute and graduated in 1941. Annie Cuison Pancho Varquez, 89, of Gardena, California, died Sunday, March 2, 2014.

She was born to Gaudencio and Procesa Cuison Pancho, March 9, 1924, in Jimenez, Misamis Occidental, Philippines.

Annie attended elementary school at Farmer's Institute and graduated in 1937. She attended high school at the Misamis Institute and graduated in 1941. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from The Mindanao Colleges of the Philippines in 1950, and graduated Suma Cum Laude from Silliman University, Dumaguete, Philippines, with a Master's degree in Teaching.

She immigrated to the United States in the early 1960s, and was married on March 18, 1962 to Silverio Dano Varquez (deceased February 18, 1980). They lived together in Delano, California before relocating to Gardena, California in 1968.

Annie was an elementary school teacher at Santa Ana Elementary School in Davao City, Philippines. She was also high school teacher at Davao City High School, and a high school principal at Santa Mesa Foursquare Church, also in Davao City. Annie also served as a minister at the Foursquare Church. She was passionate about making a difference in others' lives.

Annie also worked in the corporate world as a Property Appraiser / Assistant Administrator for the Bureau of Building & Real Estate in the Philippines.

In corporate America, she worked as a Circuit Designer for Pacific Bell in Los Angeles, California for over 30 years.

Annie was a self-taught pianist, and was an active member and volunteer to several organizations like the Salvation Army, Community Care Services, the Home League, Lutheran Women's Social Services Guild, the Royal Fraternity of Veterans, and the Mindanao Area Association, Inc.

She was an international trader (import/export) and a businesswoman – owning a consignment boutique of jewelry, perfume, clothing, antiques, silver, and other rarities in Gardena, California.

Annie's siblings include: Joaquin Cuison Madula (deceased), Raquel Cuison Pancho (deceased), Odelmon Cuison Pancho (deceased), and Norma Cuison Pancho of Oxnard, California.

She is survived by her children: Earl Jay Pancho Varquez of Gardena, California; and Sevs Kenn Pancho Varquez & his wife, Geneva of Los Angeles, California. Annie is also survived by her only granddaughter: Sydney Kalista "Boom Boom" Sado Varquez.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeraria del Angel (McNerney's Mortuary) in Wilmington, California. A memorial service will also take place on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary chapel. Annie will then be laid to rest next to Silverio at Green Hills Memorial Park in Palos Verdes, California.
