Anderson, Anthony “Tony” age 71, passed away October 6th after battling cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Pauline, his sons Stuart and Ian, daughter-in-law Laura and grandson Colin.
Anthony was born on December 13, 1944 in Sheffield, England to Phillip and Kathleen Anderson. Educated in England and a graduate of the Royal Aircraft College of Farnborough with a degree in Electrical Engineering, he and his family came to America in 1979. He became very active in the test & measurement industry and became president of NCSL in 1996.
He had two passions in life, the first being soccer. He was a longtime supporter of Sheffield United, “The Blades”, his childhood hometown team. He also coached both his son’s youth soccer teams for many years and took both teams to Europe to play games. His other passion since he was 10 years old was model railroading. He’s always had a layout in the house and used to work on it whenever he had any free time.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 9:30am to 10:00am at Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford with a Funeral Service to follow at 10:00am. A graveside service will take place at 12:00pm at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Winter Park on Monday, October 17, 2016.

Dear Pauline and family,
I knew Tony well and served with Tony on the NCSL Board of Directors for many years. We also enjoyed golfing and played at many courses around the USA. Tony always wanted to play at Pebble Beach and I remember the day that I took Tony's picture as he stood on the 18th green.
Tony dedicated his expertise in Metrology to his colleagues worldwide.
Tony will be missed. I have lost a good friend and I am sure Tony will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
My thoughts and prayers, Mike Suraci

Dear Pauline and family, I was in NC for the past month and just learned of your loss. I met Tony in networking meeting in Lake Mary specifically at one of our favorite places, Dicken's Coffee and Tea Room. One day Tony asked if anyone wanted to buy some tea cups from England. I was excited and happy to do so. In going to his house to present my business, I met Pauline. What a pleasure! I am sorry for your loss and want you to know that I will pray for Tony and all members of your family. Remember to smile when you say or hear Tony's name as I am sure he would want you to remember him with loving and caring memories.

I met Tony shortly after he came to the USA and became President of Guildline. Tony went on to become one of the Leaders in the Calibration Business and an active Volunteer in the National Conference Of Standards laboratories (NCSL), where he became President. I had the pleasure of serving with Tony on the NCSL Board of Directors for many years. Tony maintained a strong bond with the NCSL Presidents and strived to contribute to the profession of Metrology. Tony will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with Pauline and Tony's family.

It was an honor & privilege to be part of the Seminole Blades. Many of my best memories from my childhood revolved around being a Blade. Coach Anderson taught us how to play the game correctly. He was much more than just a coach. He was a positive male role model that cared about us all & dedicated father to Stuart & Ian.
My thoughts & prayers go out to Pauline, Stuart, Ian & the rest of the family.

Our thoughts are with Pauline and his boys. Tony was a mild ,calm man and Mike enjoyed his company and love of the British railway. Remembering our trip on the Welsh mountain railway. A lovely day and we had hoped to repeat it on his next visit to England. This is not to be but we will always think of you when we take a train trip. Love to you all.
Mike and Gillian.

Condolences to the Anderson family. Tony was a good man and will be missed. I often played golf with Tony in the Thursday night Scrambles at Timacuan. That was how I got to know a gracious, humble man, who enjoyed a good laugh...and making a long putt!
