STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Anthony Francis Caputo, 68, of Great Kills, died yesterday in a Brooklyn hospice following a two-year battle with cancer. Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Caputo moved back and forth through Brooklyn and Staten Island four times before finally settling in Great Kills 10 years ago. He worked as a lithographer for Empire Color in Manhattan with his father before pursuing his dreams of owning his own business - an auto body and fender shop in Brooklyn with his brother. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Anthony Francis Caputo, 68, of Great Kills, died yesterday in a Brooklyn hospice following a two-year battle with cancer.



Born in Brooklyn, Mr. Caputo moved back and forth through Brooklyn and Staten Island four times before finally settling in Great Kills 10 years ago.

He worked as a lithographer for Empire Color in Manhattan with his father before pursuing his dreams of owning his own business - an auto body and fender shop in Brooklyn with his brother.

Mr. Caputo loved cars and enjoyed driving around in his Corvette and Cadillac. He was also an Elvis fan and enjoyed singing his songs. He also enjoyed playing poker in Atlantic City.

Mr. Caputo was a parishioner of St. Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills.

He is survived by five sons Christopher, Anthony, Gregory, Michael Caputo and Richie; two brothers, Albert and Louis; two sisters; Linda Paolino and Debra Setteducato, and one grandson.

The funeral will be Tuesday from Casey-McCallum-Rice South Shore Funeral Home, Great Kills, with a mass at 9:45 a.m. in St.Clare's R.C. Church, Great Kills. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Pleasant Plains.
