ANTHONY GUMINA "Tony" age 56. Beloved husband of Teresa (nee Smith); proud and loving father of Georgeann, Catherine Rose, and Madeline; dearest son of Carl and Martha (both deceased), loving brother of Carleen Gumina Broberg (Bob), and Frank, and dear uncle and friend of many. Tony attended St. Edward High School and in 1979 he moved to Las Vegas and began his career in the casino industry. Due to a combination of great intelligence, infectious charisma and a larger than life personality Tony's achievements were anything but ordinary. In 1990 Tony patented a concept for Texas Hold 'em Lottery ticket. He began working for Hartford based MDI where he licensed popular brands like Wheel of Fortune and Harley Davidson. In 1999 he was introduced to the late Ray Charles which began a lasting friendship and business relationship, including creating a slot machine that could be played by the blind. After Ray's passing in 2004 Tony served as a pallbearer. At that time Tony formed the Ray Charles Marketing Group and licensed his music and likeness for the next seven years. Tony also served as executive producer for the documentary "Ray Charles America". In 2012 Tony began working to bring events to the country's largest indoor convention center, The IX Center. He, most recently, spearheaded the Pro Football Hall of Fame FanFest. If life were measured in experiences rather than years, Tony out lived us all; slow dancing with Beyonce at the Grammys, riding in a Mardi Gras float with Harry Connick Jr., producing commercials with Terry Bradshaw, Jerry Rice, Warren Moon, Barry Sanders and Joe Namath and traveling enough to reach the million mile club are just a handful of examples of what life looks like when you really live every single day. He was truly a force and deeply loved by all who knew him. Despite his many professional accomplishments, if you were to ask Tony what he is most proud of the answer would be his three daughters. He was a wonderful father who instilled in his children a strong work ethic, unwavering loyalty to friends and family and a relentless passion for life. It is likely because of this passion all three Gumina girls knew how to decant wine, eat an oyster and parlay a football bet at a very early age. They adored him.
