Anthony Patrick Sabatello, 80, a proud Chicago native, who resided in Henderson, Nevada for the past 18 years, left our earth to be with his Heavenly Father on January 30, 2019.

Although he battled cancer valiantly, this disease finally took its toll, yet his spirit of adventure lasted until the very end.

An accomplished international author and a linguist by degree, he served civil servant roles with the post office and the Chicago Police Department before he became disabled in the line of duty.

Countess years of enrichment in the art of writing had given him his new calling where his literary works fancied on everything from life as a police officer, ("My Kind of Town; Excerpts from a Chicago Copper's Life") to genealogy of the family, as well as countless essays and articles published across numerous authors' clubs and periodicals.

Anthony, "Tony" to his friends and family, never failed to live his life to the fullest. Some might say to excess, but Tony didn't leave anything left in the proverbial tank of life and enjoyed all he could. He liked to "root, root, root for the Cubbies" and "Bear Down" for the Chicago Bears. He enjoyed cooking, and while in Vegas, the casino life and sportsbook. Although legally blind, he didn't let this deficiency get in the way of his fun.

Tony is survived by his wife, Eileen, of nearly 59 years; sons, Anthony "Cory" (Ellyce) and Nicholas (Barbara, deceased); brother Dan (Judy); four grandkids, Sara, Sammy, Mark and Benett; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jill, and his mother Malinda and father Anthony.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Nathan Adelson Hospice in Henderson, NV.

A local memorial service will be held at 11:30 am on February 20, 2019 at Palm Eastern Mortuary 7600 S. Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123, followed by a light luncheon. A Celebration of Life Memorial Mass and Catholic burial of ashes will take place at a later date in Chicago in the summer of 2019 where his final interment will be in the family plot in Hillside, Illinois.
