LAKEWOOD – Anthony (Tony) Trimarco died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Shorrock Gardens LTC, Brick. He was 91. Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, he settled in Lakewood NJ in September 2011. Tony proudly served his country in the US Navy (1940 - 1946), US Merchant Marines (1946 - 1947) and US Naval Reserves (1947 - 1955). He was stationed aboard the USS Texas, USS Tourmaline, and USS Shoshone. LAKEWOOD – Anthony (Tony) Trimarco died Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Shorrock Gardens LTC, Brick. He was 91.

Born and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, he settled in Lakewood NJ in September 2011.

Tony proudly served his country in the US Navy (1940 - 1946), US Merchant Marines (1946 - 1947) and US Naval Reserves (1947 - 1955). He was stationed aboard the USS Texas, USS Tourmaline, and USS Shoshone. His service was recognized with the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal (One Star), American Defense Medal (Bronze A), and European-African-Middle Eastern Medal (One Star).

After his military service, Tony worked as a skilled carpenter and house builder. He then worked in maintenance for the NYC Housing Authority for 25 years, retiring in 1984.

Tony was also involved in and was a co-founder of the VFW Post 7173 and American Legion Post in Bay Ridge. He had a passion for fishing and hunting, and made frequent hunting trips to Wyoming from the 1950s through 2007.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary in 1996.

Surviving are his children: William A. Trimarco, Louis A. Trimarco and his wife Ruth, and Katherine M. Trimarco; and a grandson, Robert Anthony Forgetta.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 9AM at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood. Interment will follow at Pine Lawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY.
