Obituary

NADIG; Anton passed away peacefully in the West Coast General Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 71 years of age. Predeceased by his brother Johan and his parents Melchior and Anna Nadig. Anton is survived by his children: Herb (Robin), Robert (Laura), Karl and Brian (Maria). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Alexxandra, Katrina (Patrick), Kyle and Jordan and great grandchildren Sophia and Jacob. Predeceased by his brother Johan and his parents Melchior and Anna Nadig. Anton is survived by his children: Herb (Robin), Robert (Laura), Karl and Brian (Maria). He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Alexxandra, Katrina (Patrick), Kyle and Jordan and great grandchildren Sophia and Jacob. Anton loved spending time with and was especially fond of all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Alice Mosimann (Willi) and RoseMarie Gubser (Hans), brother Alfons (Rita) and many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and Switzerland.
Anton loved the outdoors. He worked as a logger for M&B Sproat Lake Div. and with Coulson Forest Products prior to his retirement. He was an avid hunter, hiker and a volunteer with the Alberni Valley Rescue Squad for over 40 years.
A celebration of Anton's life will be held at the Alberni Valley Rescue Hall on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. Cremation has taken place. Stories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.chapelofmemories.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anton's memory may be made to the BC Cancer Agency, 2410 Lee Ave., Victoria, BC V8R 6V5 or a blood donation through the blood bank.
