Antonina Sweet Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 19, 2017.

Antonina Sweet joined our heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. She

was born November 6, 1934 in Krakow, Poland. During the invasion of Poland in

1940 she and her family were brutally removed from their home and interned in a

forced labor camp in Siberia, Russia. They endured unimaginable hardships,

losing many family members. As part of an agreement between Polish General

Sikorski and Russia, Antonina and her family were part of a small but fortunate

group of Poles who were released from some of the Soviet labor camps. They

made their way on foot across Russia to India. They spent the next few years in

a British camp for displaced persons in Koja, Uganda, Africa. From Africa her

family journeyed to England settling in Chipping Camden, England.

In 1954 Antonina met and married the love of her life Michael in England. Michael

and Antonina eventually made their way to the United States where he made his

career with the US military. They were happily married for 55 years, Michael

preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter Krystyna (Trzos) her

husband Thaddeus, granddaughters Stephany and Katherine; son Edward and

granddaughter Madeline; and son Richard, all of Colorado Springs who are

heartbroken and miss her profoundly. Additionally, she is survived by numerous

nieces, nephews, and cousins around the world. Her parents and siblings all

preceded her in death.

A Rosary followed by a Catholic Mass will be held for Antonina on Today, May 23,

12:30 pm at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 5354 South Highway 85/87 in

Security, CO 80911. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

Richard Sweet

The tears will end, when I see you again.

Mom,
I cant believe its been a year that youve been gone. The days have faded into weeks and months, the firsts without you are all done. The difficult days through the year without you have passed but not easily.

The world is a colder place without you here. The feelings of being truly loved, cared for and needed are now cherished memories and so sorely missed. Less of my heart remains since you took so much of it with you and with you it stays. There is no getting over losing who I loved most in this world only now trying to get through the days.

Not a day has passed that I dont think about you and all the happy times we had, you and those days are so deeply missed. The long drives and talks, seeing you enjoying simple pleasures in life but always putting others first, how humble you were and yet more special and important to me than anyone else on earth could ever be. Even when you were sad or in so much pain, you always smiled and never complained. You endured more suffering than most imagined or knew yet you never dwelled on your past.

I long for your smile, laughter and warmth and cant escape the sorrow of not having you here, even in my dreams I shed tears and know that wont end until Im with you again. I pray you now truly know how you were my world and how proud and lucky I always felt to have you as my mom.

Until the day we are together again, I will always miss you and remain your broken hearted son.

I love you always,
Ricky

He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness or pain. The world of the past has gone. Revelation 21:4

We were very saddened to hear of the loss of Antonina and also remember her as Aunt Tosia, perhaps this was a nickname given to her by her siblings. I met her once only when I was around 8 yrs old (1974 I think) when you all stopped at our home for a night and remember a beautiful warm person. My father Bronislaw often spoke of Antonina his younger sister with great fondness and affection and missed her very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Antonina and you.
With love your cousin Barbara, Aunty Anna and cousin Adam and family xxxxx

I have the fondest childhood memories if my Aunt Antonina, we always knew her as Aunty Tosia. I was only about 8 years old when I met her for the first time when she visited the family in Stratford, England. I can still see her warm smile and feel her kind and joyful nature. She looked so pretty and dressed in such a stylish way. We never got the opportunity for many get togethers as we lived so far apart but we have fond memories of you all. My dad Jozef loved his sister so much and kept in touch. He always talked about her and our family in the States. I know that my Dad and Antonina are now reunited with all of their other brothers and sisters, may god bless them all and may this bring you some comfort in your time of great sadness. With love your cousin Anna, Rofik and Chris Miah and your cousin John,Lesley, Lee and Joanne xxxxxx

I am sorry for your loss. I know how much she was loved. I am sorry I did not get the chance to get to know her better but I know she was a wonderful lady. I have heard several of the many great stories about her, please continue to share these and find comfort in them. May she Rest In Peace in a place much better than here.

Grandma,
I can't believe I'm writing this and you're not here anymore. My heart is broken. You are such an amazing and beautiful person and the best grandma anyone could ask for. I miss you so much. I find comfort in knowing you are not suffering anymore and that you have been reunited with granddad. I know how much you missed him.
You will continue to influence my life everyday. Thank you for showing me what it means to truly be a good person in every aspect of everyday.
I am so sad you won't be here to share the rest of my life with me, but I know you will be watching out for all of us the way you always have.
Grandma, I love you, I miss you, and I will see you again.
All my love always.
