Antonio “Tony” Z. Mora, 68, of Corpus Christi, TX passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was born on July 5, 1949 to the late Juan and Maximiana Mora. Tony was a 1968 graduate of Mary Carroll High School and a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a longtime employee of Corpus Christi Army Depot, and most recently he greatly enjoyed working as a crossing guard for Ella Barnes Elementary where he was affectionately known as “Papa Bear.”
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 46 years, Mary Mora and siblings, San Juana Ennis, Porfirio Mora, Delia Lopez and Alicia Gomez.
Tony and his wife Mary had four children; Melanie Mora, Chris Mora (Mary), Tracy Mora and Samantha Walker (James); three grandsons, Joey, Jacob and Joshua Gonzales; granddog, George Mora; siblings, Petra Mora, Julia Smith and Tomas Mora (Neely) along with other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. Chapel services will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 10:00 am with entombment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
