Antonio Calderon Pando, Toño, beloved husband, father, and grandfather died in El Paso on Saturday, August 16, 2014. He was born in 1923 in Julimes, Chihuahua. He married Gloria Hermila Hernandez on April 9, 1955. He is preceded in death by his son Antonio, Jr. and survived by his wife, children: Jesús, Ricardo, Luis, Maria Elena, Alicia and Raquel; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Guadalupe and Ramona; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Antonio Calderon Pando, Toño, beloved husband, father, and grandfather died in El Paso on Saturday, August 16, 2014. He was born in 1923 in Julimes, Chihuahua. He married Gloria Hermila Hernandez on April 9, 1955. He is preceded in death by his son Antonio, Jr. and survived by his wife, children: Jesús, Ricardo, Luis, Maria Elena, Alicia and Raquel; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters: Guadalupe and Ramona; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Toño lived in El Paso, Texas for over 60 years. He was trained as a teacher in Mexico and worked in construction in El Paso. He was a proud member of the Laborers' International Union of North America. He loved spending time with his children and large extended family and was respected and admired by all. His priority was helping his family and friends, and many would testify to the good works he did for them. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the National Parkinson Foundation at www.parkinson.org. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 pm on Wednesday August 20, 2014 at Hillcrest Funeral Home – Carolina with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Service under the direction of HILLCREST FUNERAL HOME 1060 Carolina 598-3332.
