Sarah McElhone

Making us spaghetti, which she didn't eat, then frying hamburger for herself, the best iced tea ever in the orange jug, giving Matt and I whole boxes of bazooka joe bubble gum and letting us watch cartoons after school, pretending she didn't notice when whole packs of wintergreen mints went missing from her nightstand drawer, standing at the mixing bowl whipping her own cream, leaving the butter dish out all day, tins of Utz chips, toasting her pretzels in the toaster to burn them...so many wonderful memories of the sweetest person in the world. You live in our hearts and memories Grandmom.

I've always felt that I could not describe Grandmom better than they did in her high school yearbook: Arlene is the essence of all sweetness. A nameless grace lightens her ever-smiling eyes. She is the most even-tempered person we know.

I will always remember Arlene as a good woman, loving and always attentive, and the consummate homemaker at Cherrydell Rd. She will be missed.

Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. Arlene was a wonderful person. I will always remember her beautiful blue eyes and that great smile. I also remember when we would have family gatherings, she always made the delicious "sweet tea" and I believe the pound cake was called "Kentucky Butter". I sure did enjoy them! She will be missed. With Sympathy, Love Debbie & Don
