Arline M. (Kern) Austin, age 79, of Somerset, died July 19, 2012 in Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harold R. "Bob" Austin.

Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Arthur T. and Elizabeth (Slusser) Kern, she lived in Groton, Connecticut for 30 years, moving to Somerset in 1995.

A graduate B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1951, she was a payroll clerk at M & G Sportswear in Fall River and also worked in accounting at the US Coast Guard Academy and R & D Development while living in Connecticut.

In Groton, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church where she was a parish council member and was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church in Fall River.

She is survived by two sisters: Maureen Theriault of Somerset and Elizabeth Roussel of Swansea and several nieces and nephews. She was sister of the late Nancy L. Corum.

Her Funeral will be held Monday July 23, 2012 at 8AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at ROSE E. SULLIVAN 866 County St. Somerset, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Bernadette's Church, 529 Eastern Ave. Fall River. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 PM Burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
