Bakke Sr., Arnold Joseph, 79, of Mesa, AZ passed away on January 15, 2013. He was born on May 23, 1933 to Lewis and Bessie Bakke in Lignite, ND. He attended school at Lignite and Portal and joined the United States Air Force in 1951. In 1955 he started working as an electrician in New Jersey. He retired in 1990 and returned to Williston, ND and Burlington, ND and then winters in Mesa, AZ. He was once married to Ann Case and to the union their sons Arnold Jr. and Russell were born. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lucille and husband Marvin Young, brother Orine and Wife Virginia, and brother Lawrence. Surviving are his two sons; Arnold Jr. (Leslie) of St. Pauls, NC, and Russell Sr. (Wendy) of Columbia, TN, five grandchildren; Corrina, Justina, Russell Jr., Cassandra, and Erik, Five step grandchildren; Justin, Derek, Cody, Kimberly, and Jeremy, six great grandchildren, sisters; Thelma (John) Bakke of Burlington, ND and Mildred Berg Williston and many nieces and nephews. Burial of his Cremated remains will take place in Lignite, ND in the spring. Arrangements entrusted to Melcher Mission Chapel and Crematory, www.melchermission.com. In lieu of flowers, donate to the charity of your choice.

Very sorry to hear of the passing of Arnie - I delivered papers to him for years on my paper route when I was younger and he always took the time to ask me how I was doing and visit for, sometimes, HOURS. Peace be with the entire family. I really will miss talking with this guy!
