Arnold Edward Falleder, born June 14, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on January 12, 2013 in the Bronx, NY, due to complications from a stroke. Arnold was the son of William and Sadie Falleder of Brooklyn, NY, and the husband of Eloise Cohen Falleder, daughter of Jacob and Audrey Cohen of Stroudsburg, PA. Arnold was a published poet, loving father and devoted husband. He was the founder of the Falleder Group, a grant writing agency, and traveled for many years from Cohoes and Harlem, New York to Lynchburg, Virginia, Texas and San Francisco helping city and state agencies and poverty groups raise funding. Arnold Edward Falleder, born June 14, 1933, in Brooklyn, NY, passed away on January 12, 2013 in the Bronx, NY, due to complications from a stroke. Arnold was the son of William and Sadie Falleder of Brooklyn, NY, and the husband of Eloise Cohen Falleder, daughter of Jacob and Audrey Cohen of Stroudsburg, PA.

Arnold was a published poet, loving father and devoted husband. He was the founder of the Falleder Group, a grant writing agency, and traveled for many years from Cohoes and Harlem, New York to Lynchburg, Virginia, Texas and San Francisco helping city and state agencies and poverty groups raise funding. He was an accomplished poet. Arnold received a poet of the year award from the Poetry Society of America, published three books: Midrash for Macbeth (Runaway Spoon Press, 2000), William Said (Generator Press, 1996) and The God-Shed (Runaway Spoon Press, 1992), contributed to several anthologies including the American Judaism Reader (1967) Generator 9 (Generator Press, 1997) and published work in several journals, among them, Christian Century, Cover, Fiddlehead, Onthebus, Purple, Rattle, Stone Country and The Poet.

Arnold and his wife Eloise were members of the Stephen Wise Free Synagogue and enjoyed studying Torah with their Chaverah group. Arnold was active in the West 87th Street Block Association and served several years on his buildings co-op board. Arnold was a mensch and performed many mitzvahs. He will be greatly missed by his wife Eloise Cohen Falleder, daughter Samantha Berman and her husband Marc, and daughter Gussie Singer and her husband David. He is survived by his wife, children, two granddaughters, Allison Lily Berman and Hannah Jean Singer, and his sister, Toby Falleder.
Services will be held on Tuesday January 15, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, Inc. 27 Washington Street, East Stroudsburg. Interment will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Bryant Street, Stroudsburg.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday January 15, 2013 from noon until the time of the service.
The family will be sitting Shiva at Eloise Falleder's home, in New York, 160 West 87th Street, Apt# 7B, NY, NY 10024on Wednesday 1/16 from 2PM to 8PM.

Eloise will continue Shiva in her home on Thursday the 17th from 2-6pm and Friday the 18th 2-6pm. Samantha Berman will continue Shiva on Thursday in her home, 565 West End Ave., APT 3G NY, NY 10024 from 4 - 8pm. Gussie Singer will continue Shiva from Thursday through Monday, in her home 27050 Cedar Rd. APT 102, Beachwood, OH 44122. Visitors are welcome at the Singers home on Friday between 10am to 2pm, and Sunday, 11am to 5pm.
