Arthur Arrington Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 12, 2012.

Arthur Andre Arrington, 74, of Las Vegas, NV, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2012, after a recent hospitalization complicated by CHF and pulmonary disease.
Arthur, known to his family as Andre, was born June 8, 1938 in Lake Wales, Florida, home to the historic Bok Tower Gardens, which was dear to his heart.
Andre, a veteran of the Vietnam War, served in the Air Force in the US and overseas. He retired in 1981 after 20 years of loyal and dedicated service; particularly with the 35th Component Repair Squadron.
Like his father, Andre enjoyed wood carving. He also enjoyed music, playing the harmonica, and drawing. He was very creative, artistic and witty, with a great sense of humor. He was also very mechanical and loved working with and on, all kinds of vehicles.
He is survived by his daughter Anna Walden and her spouse Roger; son Andre Arrington; son Clint Arrington and his spouse Kathy; 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 11-12:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Swilley Funeral Home, 1602 W. Waters Avenue, Tampa FL. 33604. The memorial service, followed by military funeral honors will be at 2:30 p.m., at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, FL 33513.

In loving memory of my Uncle Andre who will be missed dearly by so many but will forever live in our hearts. I will continue to think of him every time I see a Clint Eastwood movie. Uncle Andre could ALWAYS make me laugh no matter what kind of day I was having. I admired his military service and decided to serve in the same branch. I will remember him for many things but his sense of humor stands out along with his many other talents. Uncle Andre was without a doubt one of a kind. I may not have seen him often but he really was an inspiration in my life. Thanks for the wonderful memories Uncle Andre. I find comfort in knowing I will see you again.
