Arthur "Art" Cecil, 82, of Lick Hollow Road, Greeneville, passed away Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Takoma Regional Hospital.

He retired as a 20 year U. S. Air Force veteran and was employed by Food City for 13 years.

Art was a member of Victory Church of God.

He was a member of American Legion Post # 64 and the Men's Brotherhood of Victory Church of God.

Survivors include his wife: Clota Cecil; two stepdaughters: Bernice Trusty and Lisa Powell and husband, Tommy, all of Greeneville; a step grandson: Thomas Powell of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Marion Cecil of Alabama; very special friends: Sherman and Betty Shelton of Greeneville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Dale and Imogene Yates of Sevierville and Lathern and Rose Franklin of Marshall, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews, both locally and out of state.

He was the son of the late Asbury and Feodra Cecil and was preceded in death by one sister and five brothers.

The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Victory Church of God.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8 pm at Victory with Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Dale Shelton officiating.

Interment will be at 1 pm Wednesday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 12:15 pm Wednesday at the church to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military
graveside service.

Palllbearers will be Fred Daniels, Oscar Ward, Zak Holt, Dylan Leake, Lewis Shipley. and Wayne Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are the members of the Adult Sunday School Class of Victory Church of God and Bill Moncier.
