Arthur F. Crum Jr.
Col. USAF(Ret)
July 17th, 1934-November 12th, 2012
Art Crum Jr. passed away at home on November 12th, 2012 of natural causes.
The second of three children born to Arthur F. Crum Sr. and Margaret Crum, Art was born and raised in Crafton, Pa, a borough of Pittsburgh. In what he considered the luckiest day of his life, he met his future bride, Nancy Blaha, during his freshman year of high school. Together they attended Penn State University and were married December 15th, 1956. The next 30 years they traveled the world as Art proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Along the way they had four children, Art III, Ed, Julie, and Erin.
After retiring in Austin in 1986, he enjoyed playing golf, rooting for the Steelers and Nittany Lions, as well as traveling with Nancy. His greatest passion later in life were his six grandchildren, who adored him. He was a dedicated member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church and derived much comfort from his faith.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie.
Art is survived by his beloved wife Nancy; sons Art III and Ed; daughter Erin; sisters Joan and Chris; and six grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening, on Thursday, the 15th of November 2012, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at seven o'clock that evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at one o'clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 16th of November, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 4311 Small Rd, Austin, Texas. Interment will follow in Austin Memorial Park under the direction of Cook-Walden Funeral Home.

Most of are blessed to have one Father, I had Two. Art Crum taught me you could lead with love and respect as well as a strong message. Art Crum taught me when you love someone with all your heart as he did Nancy , you were always second and that made you strong not weak. Art Crum showed me the honor of a man and what that truely meant to his character and worth. I will miss the opportunity to pick your mind for your wisdom over a fine glass of wine. I will miss watching you make every putt inside of....well every putt ! One thing I have learned with the passing of my first Dad , like him I won't miss you. The reason I won't miss you is because like him everytime I make that correct turn in life and bring joy to my fellow man you will be right there beside me and the lessons I have learned! I love You Colonel , I Love You as if you were my Dad, thanks for your wisdom ,your love, and all the gifts you have yet to give my life.

Nancy....Art was a good friend and a fine member of the Northwest Austin Kiwanis Club. I appreciated getting to know him and working with him on our many worthwhile community projects in the past. I had changed jobs and had to drop out of Kiwanis for awhile...when I recently re-newed my membership, I was saddened that he no longer was an active member. Blessings to your family. Nancy, please accept my sincere condolences. Art was a great friend, whether it concerned golf, college football, or greeting our new dog, Cleo. He always had something encouraging to say to me. Sometimes it was concerning my golf game or sometimes it concerned my Missouri Tigers, after they had a bad game. We were not that far apart in age but he treated me like a son. I will miss him.
