STETSON AND OLD TOWN - Arthur Herbert "Butch" Landry, 69 died peacefully June 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1945 in Bradley, the son of Eugene E. and Joan Delcina (Pelletier) Landry. Arthur graduated from John Bapst High School. He worked for Better Homes in Bangor before enlisting in the US Army in 1966. Following his service, he was employed for 11 years at the University of Maine. In 1978 he started his own plumbing and heating business with his wife Dot which they operated until his retirement in 1996. STETSON AND OLD TOWN - Arthur Herbert "Butch" Landry, 69 died peacefully June 3, 2014 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1945 in Bradley, the son of Eugene E. and Joan Delcina (Pelletier) Landry. Arthur graduated from John Bapst High School. He worked for Better Homes in Bangor before enlisting in the US Army in 1966. Following his service, he was employed for 11 years at the University of Maine. In 1978 he started his own plumbing and heating business with his wife Dot which they operated until his retirement in 1996. He was a member of the Old Town Elks Lodge #1287 and served as exalted ruler 1997-1998. Art was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada, he also enjoyed hunting and loved to tell stories and jokes. Art had an outgoing personality and had a lot of special friends over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy Jean (Dubay) Landry; six sisters, Evelyn Petrie and her husband, John of Milford, Lanette Petrie and her husband, Richard of Bradley, Margaret Roy and her husband, Philip of Milford, Marie Forbus and her husband, Wayne of Canaan, Rose Landry of Bradley, Jean Mack and her husband, Will of FL; three brothers, Clarence Landry and his wife, Gail of MA, Brian Landry and his wife, Ann of Bradley, James Landry and his wife, Sharon of Orrington; special aunt, Sister Mary Louise Landry of the Sisters of Mercy of Portland, aunts and uncles, special nephew, Ken Therrien and his wife, Lisa of Milford; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Parish of the Resurrection of the Lord, Holy Family Church, Old Town. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Immediately following the service all are invited to the Parish Hall for a light luncheon. Following that Dot invites family and friends to share in conversation with stories and memories of Art at their home in Stetson.
