Mr. Ashton Slayte Keener, age 22 of Lawrenceburg died July 14, 2012 at Crockett Hospital. He was a native of Lawrence County and a Baptist. He was a Specialist in the Tennessee Army National Guard, assigned to the 268th Military Police Company and a veteran of operation Enduring Freedom. SPC Keener awards include the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Epeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with Mobilization Device, the Army Service Ribbon and Overseas Service Ribbon. He is survived by his parents, Albert Shawn Keener and Tracy Crowe Smith & step-dad, Greg Smith, three brothers, William Jonathan Smith and Matthew Allen Keener all of Lawrenceburg, TN, Ayden Steven Keener of Michigan; one sister, Hayley Michelle Keener of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandparents, Jon & Lanita Crowe, Albert & Shirley Keener, Nell & Hewlett Smith all of Lawrenceburg, TN; great-grandparents, James H. and Jane Martin, Robert L & Faye Patton, all of Lawrenceburg, TN, Troy & Sylvia Crowe of SC and two nieces.

Funeral Service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Chapel, Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11 am with Rev Joshua Crowe officiating and interment in O.K. Cemetery with Full Military Honors.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 5 ~ 9 pm.
