Audrey A. Milia of Winter Park, Florida passed away on November 9, 2013. She is predeceased by her parents, Harold George and Alice Mebius Catlow, her husband of 36 years, Joseph Milia (Kip) and her partner of 21 years, Ven Aaberg.

She grew up in Bloomfield, NJ and graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1941. In high school she played the role of Gay Wellington in "You Can't Take It With You". Her secret wish was to one day be a character actress. She attended Penn State University for 2 years.

In 1947, she married Joseph Milia (Kip). They moved to Toms River, NJ in 1954. They loved to dance and even won some contests in younger days. They taught their daughter to do the lindy hop and jitterbug and entertained her daughter's friends with their dancing. Family and friends getting together was a tradition for every holiday during the year.

She was a comforter and caretaker and took good care of Kip as he struggled with heart disease for 19 years as well as her mom and dad as they battled cancer. In Toms River, she worked for the Tax Assessors office and then worked as a clerk in school libraries for Toms River Regional Schools.

She moved from Toms River, NJ to Winter Park, Florida in 1981 with her husband, Kip. When he passed in 1983, she volunteered at schools and worked with Widows and Widowers. Several years later, she was blessed to fall in love with her daughter's grade school best friend's dad, Ven Aaberg. Wendy Aaberg Lantz and Lynne became sisters and enjoyed the newly created extended family.

She loved reading business magazines and on-line investment articles. She studied the stock market daily. She used computers starting in the 1980's (classic Mac) and kept up with technology. Encouraged by her daughter, she become an avid Orlando Magic Fan and was the honorary ball captain with Lynne on Mother's Day several years ago. She said that it was the best Mother's Day gift ever!

Survivors include daughter, Lynne Milia Mason (Peter), granddaughter, Tracy Cashon, a cousin, Joan Frye (John) a step-daughter, Wendy Aaberg Lantz (Royal) as well as 2 step grandchildren, Ryan Lantz (Staci) and Jennifer Fuicelli (Rob) and 5 great grandchildren.

A viewing was held Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5-8 pm at Carey Hand Cox Parker Funeral Home, 1350 W. Fairbanks Ave., Winter Park, Florida 32789. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11 am also at Carey Hand Cox Parker, with burial at Palm Cemetery, Winter Park, Florida. All were invited back to Audrey's home after the funeral to celebrate her wonderful life.

Her granddaughter, Tracy Cashon, remembers her: "Her brilliance, sense of humor, and incredible business mind was only exceeded by her compassion, generosity, and a selfless love for others unlike anyone I've ever known. She was a bright light to any room she walked in and to anyone she ever met. She celebrated life daily and now I will celebrate hers in all the ways I can. She was an angel on earth and now above."

Donations may be made to Cornerstone Hospice & Palliative Care, 8009 S. Orlando Ave., Orlando, FL 32809 in memory of Audrey A. Milia.
