Augusto Abueg Abarro (Gus), beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 24, 2012 at Paradise Valley Hospital at the age of 78. His final days were spent surrounded by his family.

Gus was born and raised in Rosario Cavite, Philippines, to Mariano and Estelita Abarro on June 2, 1934. His parents, his brothers Filemon and Rogelio, and his sisters Priscilla and Lili preceded him in death. He was a loving husband to Germelina Abarro for 49 years of marriage, loving father to Gerly Abarro, and proud grandfather to Kristina, Kamille, and Ally. He is survived by his siblings Natividad, Flora, Arleta, and Isagani.

He joined the U.S. Navy after graduation and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He received many awards during his service. After 20 years in the Navy, he then served 20 years in the Military Sealift Command. Gus worked hard to provide for his family and never expected anything in return. His greatest joy was making his family and friends happy.

His hobbies included cooking, spending time with his family, and taking trips to the casino. Gus will be deeply missed and remembered by his family and friends.

He will receive full military honors on July 3, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Abbey Mortuary.
