Aurora L. Abdul-Karim, 100, of Rockford passed at Cor Mariae Center on May 15, 2011. Born May 19, 1910 in Mexico, the daughter of Victor and Maria (Flores) Lozano. Graduated from Secretarial College. Aurora was a member of St. Bernadette Church, she volunteered for the Senior Citizen Center and Meals on Wheels. Aurora was a talented seamstress and needle crafter, who for many years generously and lovingly shared her skills with family and community. Survived by her grandchildren, Sandra (Scott) Kleindienst, Cindy (Daniel) Petersen and John (Linda) Kleindienst; son-in-law, Albert Kleindienst; nephew, Gerry Lozano; niece, Lydia Lozano and family in Florida and Mexico. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Chaquib Abdul-Karim; daughter, Yolanda Kleindienst; sister, Elvira; brothers, Francisco and Hector. Private family services at Sunset Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Bernadette's or Cor Mariae Center. Tributes to the family at www.sunsetfhmemgardens.com
