Austin, 92, passed away suddenly surrounded by his family, after a very long and healthy life. Austin was preceded in death by his Loving wife Mary C. Ahern and grandson Ryan Coelho. He leaves behind his children, Robert Ahern, Nancy Ahern Cano, Sharon Ahern and Austin Ahern, Jr., 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and the many nephews and nieces who knew him as "Uncle Tom". Austin was a WWII Navy Veteran, an avid base­ball fan and player, loved fishing, camping, dancing, golfing and traveled every chance he got. Austin, 92, passed away suddenly surrounded by his family, after a very long and healthy life. Austin was preceded in death by his Loving wife Mary C. Ahern and grandson Ryan Coelho. He leaves behind his children, Robert Ahern, Nancy Ahern Cano, Sharon Ahern and Austin Ahern, Jr., 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and the many nephews and nieces who knew him as "Uncle Tom". Austin was a WWII Navy Veteran, an avid base­ball fan and player, loved fishing, camping, dancing, golfing and traveled every chance he got. Austin re­tired from United Airlines in 1985 after 34 years of loving his job. Austin was proud of his accomplish­ments in life and especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren – he bragged about them every chance he got! His family will miss afternoon coffee and Sunday morning breakfasts. Visitation will be Thursday, October 31st from 6 to 9:00 p.m. at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N Winchester Blvd.  The Funeral will be held Friday, Novmber 1st at 10:00 a.m.  at St. Justin Parish, 2655 Homestead Rd. in Santa Clara. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Disabled American Veteran's (www.dav.com) are appreciated.
