ALLEN, Barbara Jane, 88, of Midlothian, formerly of Halifax Co., died March 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hurbert Allen. Survivors include three children, David Allen, Earl Allen and Jean Sweeney; one sister, Marguerite Wickert; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Brown, Rachel Allen, Francielle De Matos, Gustavo De Matos, Jessie Allen, Crystal Sweeney, Wyatt Sweeney, Tom Sweeney Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Kimberly Sweeney, Madison Sweeney and Patterson Brown. Mrs. Allen was a lover of birds and animals. The family would like to express special thanks to Melva Allen, Patricia Worsham and Denise Allen for taking good care of our mother.
