Obituary

Bernard Anderson, 86, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center. He was born November 21, 1924 to the late George V. and Elsie L. Anderson in Enfield, England. He came to the US in 1927. Bernie was a graduate of Stamford High School in Stamford CT and Yale University in New Haven, CT where he majored in Electrical Engineering. He worked for General Dynamics in San Diego, CA as the Chief Engineer in the electronics division. He retired from Citizens National Bank in Evansville. Bernie enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in WW II. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War. ...
Bernard Anderson, 86, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the VNA Charlier Hospice Center. He was born November 21, 1924 to the late George V. and Elsie L. Anderson in Enfield, England. He came to the US in 1927.

Bernie was a graduate of Stamford High School in Stamford CT and Yale University in New Haven, CT where he majored in Electrical Engineering.

He worked for General Dynamics in San Diego, CA as the Chief Engineer in the electronics division. He retired from Citizens National Bank in Evansville.

Bernie enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in WW II. He also served in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a life member of VFW Post 1114.

His hobbies included golf and duplicate bridge.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary J. Anderson; children, Jeff (Kathy) Hardesty, Susan (Jay) Kasey, Pam (Steve) Mahan; grandchildren, Michael Hardesty, Sarah (Tom) Greif, Daniel Kasey, John Kasey, Annie Kasey, and Katie Mahan; sister, Doreen F. Woundy; brother, David A. Anderson

Bernie's family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Dr. Anthony Stephens and the VNA Charlier Hospice Center for their care and compassion through this difficult time.

A celebration of Bernie's life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
